Coin Dealer Insight: The Hawaii state quarter has few errors to be aware of. A few instances of a wave crashing into the big island have been found. Don Everhart was the engraver for this coin. The reverse has a statue of Kamehameha with a state outline and motto. The words "Ua Mau ke Ea o ka Aina i ka Pono" means The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.
